I guess I should probably explain why we went to Dallas in the first place. These last 3 months, Morgan has been working tirelessly to prepare for internship interviews. He had approx. 15 interviews within a 2 week time period and these aren't little 30 min. interviews. These are 3-4 hour long interviews that take lots of preparing for. Morgan is most interested in management consulting and there are 3 main companies within that industry; McKinsey, Baine, and Boston Consulting Group. Luckily the one we were hoping for came through...
McKinsey held a cultivation weekend for all the people they gave internship offers to. They do this so that we can meet and talk to lots of people that work and McKinsey and so we make sure this is the right company for us. They flew us down, put us in a nice hotel, fed us LOTS of food and introduced us to a lot of really great people. We had a great time and Morgan looks forward to working with them this summer.
The bright blue Chase tower is where Morgan will be working!
One of the best parts about this trip was seeing that there is a telephone right next to the toilet :) Is that supposed to be classy?
Another great perk to the Dallas visit was getting to hang out with my awesome cousin Sheena and her cute family! They took us to the worlds best grocery store...really!

Sounds like a great trip! I love the wining and dining that those companies do during the interview process. Good luck to you guys! Also, I would love to hear more about this "Worlds best grocery store."
ReplyDeleteIt is really great! The grocery store is Central Market (only is TX sorry) http://www.centralmarket.com/. They have alot of specialty foods but the selection is amazing and I have never seen so many different kinds of produce in my life! They also have lots of delicious samples which is really fun! I tried a chocolate truffle that was completely gluten free/vegan and it was pretty good! Plus they make lots of different types of fresh bread and you can watch them make it...anyway you should go to TX just to visit this place :)
ReplyDeleteThat's funny that you got our picture off of facebook. :) We really enjoyed hanging out with you guys, and are excited to see more of you!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Morgan! Dallas will be so fun.
