Snow-pocalypse!

We found this dramatic title on the Washington DC News today...apparently it's the end of the world here! And looking outside it kind of seems that way. Northern Virginia and DC have reported 14" of snow in the past 24 hours; now that may not seem like anything back in Utah, but when you have no snow plows, snow shovels, etc... it could be what the news states as "crippling." Here are some pictures we took of our parking lot.

Our parking lot. They just came by with the first plow we've seen today.
Morgan digging out our car. Notice the front of the car is level with the snow! Everyone (including us) were using brooms cause no one has snow shovels out here.
At least a foot of snow!
Some of the little cars are just buried! The snow plow didn't get all the roads so some people are going to be stuck for a while!
I thought this car looked so funny. Most everyone here puts their windshield wipers up so they don't freeze to the car. It looks really funny before a snow storm.

Everything closed today. All the stores, malls, government, and the major highways. When it snows here the entire place shuts down! Its quite an adventure!! I am guessing that church will be canceled tomorrow ;) As for now, we are curled up in our nice warm apartment watching movies, taking naps, and reading! What a day!!

Wednesday some people in our ward invited us to come and make gingerbread houses. We had alot of fun and are glad to be making friends here. Morgan decided that we should make a Philippine style house sitting on stilts!

Morgan carefully made a ladder for both sides of the house! hehe I love it!

  1. Snow plows or not that's still a ton of snow. I think it's funny how different things are on the other side of the country. Well good luck with your plowless roads and digging your car out. Merry Christmas Cox's!

  2. Love that Morgan's big melon was the tape measure for the snow drift. :)
