An Eventful Weekend!

Yesterday we decided to go and see the Festival of Lights at the Washington DC Temple. First of all, the temple is incredible!! This is what you see driving down the freeway for at least 3 miles

Traffic in this section of the freeway is ALWAYS slow; and I imagine the reason for that is this incredible sight. You come around the bend and there it is looming out of the trees. It definately competes with the grandeur of any building in Washington DC! The sight at night is even more incredible!!

Well at the temple they hold the "Festival of Lights" kind of like a mini Temple Square. The lights really are incredible and we couldn't stop taking pictures.

The Washington DC temple is truly magnificent. I can only imagine the number of investigators it brings to the church each year. You just can't help but be awed by it!

The other eventful thing took place on friday when we went to the Kennedy Event Center to see Morgan's boss's son play in a concert. As we were leaving we stopped by the Information desk to ask a question and they asked us if we wanted tickets to the New York City Ballet that night. We decided it would be a good thing to do since we were already there. Well after about 5 minutes into the ballet we were quite bored, but we are glad we went and feel like it was a good cultural event for us to experience.

  2. The temple looks incredible, especially with all those colorful lights and you guys in front of it:) James and I also had an experience like yours except it was with an opera guy, I don't even remember his name. You summed it up well, a cultural experience. To comment on your previous post, I agree, amen, dido, etc.
