Invite...

We have lived outside of Utah for almost 4 years now and have had MANY opportunities to share the gospel. However, we have had so many amazing opportunities here at Stanford. Although the students come from all backgrounds they are for the most part all genuinely interested and willing to learn others' opinions, culture and religion. I love how open minded people are here and how accepting they are of all types of people.

This has provided us Mormons with a perfect opportunity to share the gospel. You may recall that last year we did a charity auction titled "Sunday with the Mormons." People actually paid to come to church with us. We thought it was a huge success last year, but this year we were blown away; the final purchase price for our Sunday with the Mormons was $350+! We have somewhere around 12 people coming to church with us to learn more about our religion!

With all the success that we have had with this type of thing we decided to host a diversity dinner. The school of business sets up 7 dinners ranging from "How to Make Authentic Japanese Sushi" to a dinner hosted by gay students. These dinners provide an opportunity for the students to take advantage of personally learning about all the cultures on campus. Morgan decided to submit a Mormon diversity dinner. Each dinner had 6 slots open and a waitlist. Within minutes of posting this dinner we had filled the list and 15 people had put there names on the waitlist! The most any other dinner had on their waitlist was 5-6. I was stunned and amazed at how much interest there is about our religion.

So, armed with the full time missionaries, our 2 other LDS MBA students and their families, and homemade Costa Vida salads, we are going to tackle feeding and teaching 21 students about our beliefs. What better way to share the gospel then to invite. I have always been terrified of sharing the gospel, but have come to realize that inviting someone to dinner is MUCH easier than telling the person next to you on the bus why you believe in Jesus Christ.

Are there any opportunities for you to invite......
