More Pictures from Kauai

Do you remember when Indiana Jones runs out of the cave (the one where the big round stone is coming after him) and heads for the airplane waiting for him on the river? Well this is the cave that they filmed that scene from and we kayaked right on the river where the plane was sitting waiting for him to grab the rope swing (pictures to come later) and jump onto the plane before the natives shot him.

It might not look it, but this cave was HUGE and really deep. It was really cool to see.

Another cave that has a mysterious tunnel at the back no doubt leading to some hidden treasure. I should have just made a raft and gone to find it :)
This reminds me of Jurassic Park don't you think! It is so beautiful and green, I love it!
Another beautiful picture. Morgan says this is what the Philippines looks like with all the rice fields.
This is my favorite beach that we went to. It has lots of trees with not too many people.
This is Morgan's idea of sunning :) In the shade covered by a towel.
That is the little chair that I sat in while reading a book and watching the surfers. It was lovely!
A beautiful lighthouse on the north shore.

We went hiking near Waimea Canyon aka "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific" I think we were about 4,000 feet and the view was amazing! Can you see the line between the two shades of blue? That is the horizon!
If you look close, right in the center of the picture is a mountain that is barely sticking up above the rest of the landscape. It has a circular in shape to it, that is a volcano!! The one I told you about in the previous post, the wettest place on earth!
I thought this picture was cool. You can see the place where sky meets ocean again.
Right when we got to the top a cloud decided to cover our view! It was pretty cool to be in a cloud though.
This is what our hike looked like. Lots of steep places with LOTS of mud. We were covered in mud after slipping and sliding all over the place. It was fun though.
A view from the top of the "Grand Canyon" isn't is beautiful!!!
Down in the industrial part of town there used to be a dump. Now there is a beach with tons of pieces of glass from bottles that were in the dump. The glass has been smoothed by the water. Its very sparkly!
I found some blue, green, brown, white and red glass. It was a fun little adventure to search for the least common colors (red and blue).

Don't worry, more pictures to come :)haha
