Virginia is for Lovers!

This weekend we went to Virginia Beach for our 2nd Anniversary/ Birthday celebration. It was so nice to get away from the craziness of DC and enjoy a couple of days on the beach. We got a room that overlooked the ocean, and it was BEAUTIFUL! We went to sleep to the sound of the waves and woke up each morning to a beautiful sunrise over the ocean!
When we saw these shirts we HAD to get them. We were celebrating our anniversary and so we thought it was very fitting ;) I am now glad to be a Virginian-who wouldn't want to be in a state that is for LOVERS! hehe

While we were in Virginia Beach, we attempted to wade in the water....
It was a little too cold...

We went to the Virginia Aquarium

...and to Old Cape Henry Lighthouse ( the first public works project issued by the US Government under George Washington in 1791) It was 200 stairs to the top and boy were we huffing and puffing all the way up ;)

The newer lighthouse that is still being used today in the background.

On the way home we saw there beautiful bright purple trees all along the road. I love Spring here with all the colors and trees!
