Our trip to Maine!

For the Labor Day weekend we decided to take a trip up to Maine and visit Morgan's brother Matt and his family. They just moved up there in July and we thought it would be a perfect chance to visit Maine also. We have now been to every north eastern state except Vermont...hopefully we will make it there before we leave.

We had lots of fun visiting family and seeing the beautiful landscape of Maine. Here are some pictures of what we did.

Lucky for us, that weekend was Matt, McKenzee and Kaylee's birthday!! All three days in a row; we did some major celebrating!! On Friday Morgan and I went to Portland Headlight which is supposedly the most famous lighthouse in the nation. It was picture perfect as you can see!

Saturday we went to Old Orchard beach, a very big tourist attraction. There we went to the little carnival and rode all of the rides, played games and ate at on the pier.

Morgan and Stephanee were definitely the dare devils at the carnival. They went on all the crazy rides while the rest of us watched and laughed as they screamed.

Sunday we went to church, ate lots of delicious food and went on a drive to Bailey's & Otter Island. The drive was so beautiful with small cottages tucked into the trees along the coast. Here are some pictures we took:

I love the sky on this one!

On the way home we caught a glimpse of this beautiful little church tucked into the trees. We had to turn around and I am so glad we did because it was so wonderful! The red door just made it all the more better.

The Cox Family-Brady, Kaylee, Stephanee, McKenzee and Matt- cute family picture!

The first night we got there we played in the pool and Matt taught us how to scuba dive! It was pretty scary going underwater and taking the first breath, but we survived and had lots of fun playing in the pool with the kids.

These are some views of the house! It was in a beautiful wooded area with a nice pool and lots of space. I really would love to move there! It felt like you were camping because of all the trees and the absence of people :) haha

We had such a great time hanging out with family and seeing beautiful Maine.

  3. Once again, another fantastic picture of the two of you at the top! Love it!
Maine looks very similar to Nova scotia... you were pretty close! Maybe next time you can pop your head in for a visit;)
